Wearing Jeans… The Most Charitable Fashion!

Wearing jeans… The most charitable fashion!

The students of the College became stars of fashion, and more importantly, of solidarity, thanks to the organisation of our emblematic Jeans Day.

The International Levante College is committed to innovative, international and charitable education, given that our academic programmes dedicate time to dealing with problems of global importance and, as far as is possible, helping to eradicate them.

In fact, every year we hold a “Jeans Day” when the students can come to class wearing jeans if they donate one euro to Casa Ronald McDonald of Valencia.  Furthermore, this year, as “Jeans Day” was held close to the Christmas holidays, many students wore Christmas accessories to enjoy this special time even more.

But, what is Casa Ronald McDonald? Located close to the Fe Hospital, it is an association which offers housing to the families of children who are in hospital.  Families can stay there while their children receive medical treatment, and in this way they have a home away from home.

Our College has collaborated with them in a number of ways since their inauguration, one of these being this special day that no student would want to miss.

Also, this year, the day was organized by students from the second year of the International Baccalaureate, who had the children’s charitable spirit confirmed to them.  They explained to the children the importance of each donation, as, although one euro may seem to be a very small amount, when it adds up, it becomes a big help to Casa Ronald McDonal of Valencia.  For the smallest children, fun activities were organised, which explained the importance of collaboration and commitment, whilst the older students learnt the importance of volunteering and social commitment.

Without doubt, a really fun day full of the Christmas spirit, during which the students could see how their small contribution could make a difference to the world.
