The Middle Years Programme: a step forward in International Baccalaureate

Currently, we are undergoing the  process of being verified as an International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Program School. This means that our students between the ages of 12 and 16 will also be part of the prestigious educational program, which we started implementing three years ago with the Diploma Programme, which is increasing in its success.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) consists of five years and in the Valencian Community we are the only School that will implement it in its entirety from 6th year primary to 4th year secondary.

This program has extraordinary benefits for our students, since it deepens their conscious and reflective learning, while increasing their autonomy and commitment.

On a day-to-day basis, it will not be a big change for students. The SEK International Institution has always opted for an avant-garde education totally in line with what the International Baccalaureate organization proposes. So our students were already used to personalized and autonomous learning, collaborative work, the use of the latest active learning methodologies or the natural integration of technology in the classroom.

However, elements such as the assessment will face a remarkable evolution. With the implementation of the Program, both students and families will have even more detailed information about the learning process.
